“Many of the Chinese FCMs have learnt fast and quickly adapted best practices. Equally, they’ve also learnt from costly mistakes made by overseas FCMs and developed sophistication which are now industry standards,” said Mr. Jeremy Ang, CEO of Straits Financial Group.

Straits Financial stays at the forefront of the global futures market developments and actively participates in the internationalization of the Chinese futures market. Straits Financial, partnered with Xinhu Futures, has worked together to help Glencore and other internationally renowned corporations in achieving the first trades for INE crude oil, DCE iron ore and ZCE PTA contracts.

“In my view, the next three to five years are going to witness a period of vast changes across the entire trade life cycle covering trade confirmations, settlement and payments among others. New technologies such as Blockchain, AI, and Big Data when combined and blended well with our industry regulatory and risk framework can be a game changer,” Mr. Jeremy Ang added.

The panel discussion is monitored by Wang Huadong, President of Hongyuan Futures Co., Ltd. Other panelist includes Ran Li, Vice Secretary of China Futures Association; Richard Guan, CEO of Hundsun Technologies Inc.; Wang Dongyang, General Manager of Shenzhen Kaifeng Investment Management Co.,Ltd.; Xu Danliang, CEO of Founder CIFCO Futures Co., Ltd.; Zhao Ting, Director, Financial Market Department of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank.

At the forum, senior management of the six exchanges in China conducted in-depth analysis and discussed topics surrounding securities and futures markets serving the real economy, opening up of the market, options and financial technology. The senior management of the six overseas exchanges discussed about the opening up of China’s financial market and mutual development at the round table forum, and made suggestions for the internationalization of China’s futures market.
